War, Opium, Politics and Patriotism and Air America

In the 1960s men who got caught up in a flying job and wanting to do the right thing for their country and then found themselves caught between politics and cross-cultures in a secret "shooting war" in a small landlocked southeastern country in the orient that few people had ever heard of called Laos.

But the world Super Powers had been arguing over Laos for years. This little backwater country had not much but Opium popie fields and Karsk Limestone mountains and rough mountain people. The majority of the population were illiterate and the Government was always splintered. It was called the land of a million Elephants, but they really didn't had many at all.

The only value this little country held was of strategic value and the usefulness to the fighting of a war in the neighboring country of Vietnam.

The calculated planning of the North as the defeated French departed the region after years of colonial rule, and the Backing of the Soviet communistic mindset. versus the democratic U.S. Backed South Vietnam.

The U.S. and Soviet Union both had agreed, Simply stated, to stay out of Laos, in a previous agreement! Why they make these agreements are beyond me, they are all Liars (Governments and politicians) and never keep their word anyway, so why bother to promise anything?

The rest is all secret and clandestine wars by both sides.
You can read why the United States Government through its clandestine secret branch the infamous CIA and the Air America Airline, Screwed so many Sermen and Honorable Aviators. Many who are still alive today. Never have gotten recognition. Those who are dead, and those who died; which were many , NEVER got any veterans benefits nor did they ever get a thank you from "America" because we didn't know about them and what they did...    I plan to change that, I hope with your help
